Your first week at Soph-Fit: what to actually expect

Starting somewhere new is always the hardest part, more so with fitness, where there's usually a bit of nerves mixed in with the decision. So here's exactly what your first week at Soph-Fit actually looks like, no guesswork required.

Step one: the coaches chat

Before anything gets booked in, you'll have a conversation with a coach. This isn't a sales script, it's us genuinely trying to learn as much as we can about you: your goals, your history with training or lack of it, injuries, physios you're working with, what's realistically going to fit around your week. That conversation is what shapes your initial action plan and gives you a proper price, tailored to what you actually need.

Step two: your starter pack

Once your 6-week trial is booked, you'll get a starter pack with everything you need to know before walking in, so your first session isn't spent figuring out logistics. We're based right by the Radcliffe Metro link stop, so getting to us from Whitefield, Prestwich or Bury is straightforward.

Step three: your first session

You'll be introduced to your assigned coach, the person responsible for your progress and check-ins throughout the trial. You won't be passed between different coaches or left to work things out alone.Every movement gets taught properly before it's loaded, and your session is built around where you currently are, not a generic starting point.

Sessions run an hour, giving enough time to warm up properly and get real coaching, not rushed reps with a "good job" thrown in.

What happens through the rest of the six weeks

You'll train within a structured 12-week training block (your trial gives you a genuine slice of this, not a separate watered-down version), have your weights and progression tracked, and receive nutrition guidance alongside your sessions. Life doesn't stop because you've started training, so if a week goes sideways, sessions can roll over rather than just disappearing.

The end-of-trial check-in

After six weeks, you'll sit down face to face with your coach to properly review progress, not a printout or a body scan, an actual conversation about what's changed, what's working, and what a longer-term plan should look like for you.

Nervous is normal

If you're feeling unsure about starting, that's not a sign you're not ready, it's just part of doing something new. The structure above exists specifically so you're not figuring it out alone.
