How much does personal training actually cost in Radcliffe and Bury?

"How much does it cost?" is usually the first question anyone asks about personal training, and fair enough. But it's also the question that gets the vaguest answers, because most gyms don't want to explain what actually drives the number.

We'd rather just tell you straight.

Why there isn't one flat price

At Soph-Fit, pricing sits roughly in the £24 to £28 per hour range, but that's a guide, not a quote, because what you need and what someone else needs isn't the same. Someone training three timesa week with an assigned coach, structured programming and nutrition support is paying forsomething genuinely different to someone who wants one session a week to stay accountable.

We could give you a single number and pretend everyone fits the same box. That's the "class"model, and it's exactly what small group PT is built to move away from.

What you're actually paying for

This is the part that gets missed in most pricing conversations. You're not paying for access to a room, a certain number of classes, or a lock on a door. You're paying for:

A coach who is assigned to you and responsible for your progress, structured programming built in12-week blocks with progressive overload, technique correction in every session, not just a headcount, regular 1-to-1 check-ins that look at training, nutrition, sleep and the barriers that a reactually getting in your way, and a capped group size so coaching stays real coaching, not crowd control.

That's a different investment to a class pass, and it should cost differently too.

Why we don't do unlimited memberships

You'll sometimes see "unlimited" pitched as the best value option elsewhere. It rarely is. Evidence consistently shows 2 to 4 structured resistance sessions a week is plenty to build strength and improve health, most of our members train around three times a week, and that's what our coaching team recommends too. Paying for unlimited access you'll never realistically use isn't value, it's just guilt with a price tag.

What the 6-week trial costs you

The trial is designed to let you experience the coaching, the structure and the community before committing long term, without being either a discounted gimmick or a random taster session. You'll get a dedicated coach, structured sessions, and a proper progress review at the end, so you can make a decision based on how it actually felt, not a guess.

Worth it if...

If you've been burned by gym memberships that quietly do nothing for you, or classes where nobody notices whether your technique is right, the cost difference makes sense fast. You're not paying more for the same thing, you're paying for coaching that's actually coaching you.
